9.5mm Pathé film, with its distinctive center perforation, was the home-movie format of Europe in the 1920s–1950s — and reels regularly surface in Israeli family archives brought from Europe. Very few labs anywhere are equipped to scan it. Studio HanaBi is one of the only studios in Israel that digitizes 9.5mm film, frame by frame, at archival quality.
Careful handling of historical film
- The center perforation demands specialized transport — a standard projector can destroy the image area. We scan without sprocket stress.
- Reels of this age are often shrunken or brittle; each one is inspected and handled accordingly.
- Every frame is captured individually, then stabilized and color-corrected.
If you have inherited unmarked reels and are not sure of the format, contact us — we will identify them at no charge. Related services: 8mm & Super 8 · 16mm · restoration.
